Weeknight Alive! - City Fair
Weeknight Alive! is live from the Baltimore City Fair, with scenes from the fair intercut with pre-recorded tours of local neighborhoods. Kelly Saunders interviews Leslie Marqua (Chairman of the City Fair), Willie Richardson (a mask maker), Jeff Summerhall (comic), and Gary Vikan (Curator of medieval art at the Walters Museum of Art). She also promotes the upcoming appearance of Captain Kangaroo. Michael Joyce interviews Terry Zipkin of Shaw & Sons about the ride at the City Fair, “Uncle Bill” from Uncle Bill’s Fried Chicken, and the “living legends” of the Peale Museum. Brian Whitley introduces performances by the Narod Balkan Folk Dancers, Gene Vincent and the Cadillac Cruisers, and Roisin Dubh Adult Irish Dancing. The program also includes tours of the Roland Park, Federal Hill, and Butcher’s Hill neighborhood, including interviews with Baltimore residents William Wilson, Lena Boone, Don Chiarello, Joe Woods, and others.
