Preliminary rough-cut for "Liz Lerman: The Shipyard Dance," a documentary film by H. James Gilmore and Neil D. Novello produced by Acadia Pictures. This version was shared with Dance Exchange during editing and post-production of the film. Documents the Music Hall's Shipyard Project, a two year (1994-1996) endeavor produced and coordinated by the Music Hall of Portsmouth, New Hampshire, in partnership with Liz Lerman Dance Exchange, reflecting on the role of the 200-year-old Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in the community's history, collective identity, and civic life. The project culminated in a week of public activities engaging hundreds of participants in the city of Portsmouth and at the adjacent Shipyard, a military installation in Kittery, Maine. Interviews with Liz Lerman and project participants interspersed throughout.
