Life's a beach is a profile of "Dr. Beach", Dr. Leatherman, of the Laboratory for Coastal Research at the University of Maryland at College Park and his study of beaches rating quality of sand, surf, and atmosphere. Pests by design illustrates the University of Maryland Biotechnology Institute's involvement in genetic engineering of insects to deal with numerous agricultural issues.
