Summary
Wisdom through a wire illustrates the Tycho computer system at University of Maryland University College and its use in distance education. Microbe wars discusses research and development of vaccines at the University of Maryland at Baltimore's School of Medicine. Meeting the challenge discusses the Choices program in Baltimore that recruits recent college graduates to counsel and help troubled young people. It's about time visits John Robinson to discuss his research into how people manage their time now, and how they did in the past. The hypermedium is the message illustrates how the University of Baltimore's Institute for Language, Technology, and Publications Design helps students and faculty design hypermedia applications. Learning to think, thinking to learn examines a program started by Coppin State College, where students (grades 4-9) come to school on Saturday to learn how to become better thinkers. A better mousetrap discusses the MIPS, Maryland Industrial Partnerships, program in which business and researchers work together on developing new products, such as airplane wings, and more fuel efficient ignition systems.
