Summary
The first papal visit to the United States, when Paul VI visited New York City to address the United Nations. After his arrival, the Pope first stopped at St. Patrick's Cathedral where some 55,000 people lined the streets to greet him. WOR's Ted Mallie describes the procession from a helicopter; Dallas Townsend of CBS from the motorcade. Unnamed reporter describes the Pope's visit inside the church and his departure. (Audio begins with a brief news report of the swearing in of Supreme Court Justice Abe Fortas.)
