Summary
The Senate stopped for a day of eulogies for John F. Kennedy. No other business was scheduled. These excerpts or adaptions of their remarks were recorded separately for radio: (1) Rhode Island John O. Pastore; (2) Rhode Island Sen. Claiborne Pell; West Virginia Sen. Jennings Randolph. Questioned after his speech, Pastore is outraged at being asked about a rumor that Sen. Carl Hayden, president pro tempore of the Senate, was too old to be in the line of succession.
