John F. Kennedy remarks at the American Bankers Association Symposium

Kennedy, addressing an economic growth symposium sponsored by the American Bankers Association, says he wants Congress to vote a tax cut of $10 billion or larger this year to avoid recession, even if it abandons the tax revisions he has proposed. A question-and-answer session follows his speech. Kennedy notes that his speech comes on the 50th anniversary of the constitution amendment permitting the federal income tax to go into effect.
