Oral history interview with Martha Clarke conducted by Kay Dove on January 23, 1980. Martha Clarke was 17 when she arrived to Japan in 1948, following her father who had been sent to Japan in 1947 with the Army. He was a major, later working with the Judge Advocate General’s Office. She finished high school in Japan and returned to the U.S. for college.
