"Incidents in the Life of an Ohio Youth as He Marched to the Sea and Beyond and Was Witness to Minor and Extraordinary Events" (full title), Lerman's only commission from a ballet company, created for BalletMet in Columbus, Ohio, during a 1993 sabbatical from Dance Exchange. Juxtaposes history of General Sherman's March to the Sea with 20th Century memories of a current-day narrator. Some texts are excerpted from the unpublished diary of an Ohio soldier preserved in an Ohio archive. Two performances are compiled on this recording: that of April 1, 1993, with tracking of action, and April 2, 1993, in a full stage view shot with a stationary camera.
