Summary
Indira Gandhi speaks at a Washington Press Club luncheon during a visit to Washington just two months after becoming India's Prime Minister. Mrs. Gandhi was in the U.S. seeking economic aid for India. Tape ends with portions of testimony by Oliver Evans, president of the Humane Society of the United States, to a Senate Commerce Committee on March 25, 1966, in support of legislation to regulate the sale of animals and the research institutions that use them.
