Summary
Recreates the theatre of Shakespeare's day through the staging of scenes from Hamlet in an Elizabethan courtyard near Stratford, England. Contrasts styles of Shakespearean role playing with excerpts from performances by Laurence Olivier, John Gielgud, Nicol Williamson and John Barrymore. Includes views of landmarks in London, Stratford and Warwick which shaped Shakespeare's approach to theatrical practice.
