Summary
This is a recording of the events of one of the Republican victory dinners held on September 26, 1972. This recording was made in Chicago, Illinois, but the entire event was broadcasted to twenty-six other cities including New York. The dinner begins with speeches by prominent members of the Republican Party Committee and Senator Charles "Chuck" Percy. A compilation of events from the Republican convention in Miami beach is then played and includes remarks by Former First Lady Mamie Eisenhower, First Lady Pat Nixon, Presidential candidate Richard Nixon, and Vice Presidential candidate Spiro T. Agnew. After the presentation, Chairwoman Anne Armstrong introduces Vice President Agnew to speak. He remarks on foreign policy, global peace, and the determination required for a successful president. Mrs. Nixon then makes a quick remark, followed by a speech by President Nixon. The President talks about Vietnam and foreign policy, urban revival, law and order, drug abuse, revenue sharing and addresses the nations youth by appealing to their shared vision of peace.
