Paul Porter telephone conversation with Katherine Anne Porter, April 6, 1976. Initial subjects include KAP's new housekeeper, Bill Wilkins's help in organizing her books, a move in 1952 that left her books disordered, invitations for engagements she has received, her first D. Litt., correspondence she's received, and Cyrilly Abels. Paul Porter reads from a Liz Smith column that quotes from Truman Capote's never completed work, Answered Prayers, that depicts Alice Lee Langman, that the columnist avers is a portrait of KAP. KAP and Paul discuss how to respond to this, which causes Porter to comment on Edith Sitwell, Carson McCullers, and Hart Crane. The conversation concludes with a discussion of a possible trip to Brownwood, Texas, Paul Porter's family in Texas, and Ann Hollaway Heintze. [The date can't be June 4, 1976, because it takes place before KAP's trip to Brownwood, Texas, in May 1976.]
