Summary
Kennedy, in a speech before 400 executives at the White House Conference on Export Expansion, says that increasing exports will help balance international accounts and stimulate domestic economic growth: “Every dollar you earn abroad is in our interest.” He also encourages support for “our much abused foreign aid program.” Cuts in foreign aid funds, he says, will damage U.S. export trade as tell as its security.
