Summary
Documentary about the inspiration and writing of Christmas carols while Benjamin Britten was on board the Swedish ship M.S. Axel Johnson in March 1942 on the way from New York to England. During a stopover in Halifax, Britten discovered 12 poems in The English galaxy of shorter poems, which he turned into Christmas carols (Op. 18).
