Summary
Using narration and performance footage, this film traces the 200 year history of gospel music from black churches, to the civil rights movement, to its influence on modern jazz, blues, and rock and roll. Includes excerpts of several live performances, and interviews with key figures who provide insight into the cultural and artistic of gospel music.
