Summary
At the 1960 Republican National Convention, some delegates wanted to nominate Barry Goldwater rather than Richard Nixon. Goldwater declined, saying (in a brief speech), “Conservatives, grow up… If we want to take this party back, and I think we can, let’s go to work.” Silence after 2:30.
