Summary
Recording of a live performance of the play "Trojan Women" by Euripides. The play is set in 415 B.C., in Troy immediately after the Greeks have taken control, and it portrays the sufferings of the wives and children of the city's defeated leaders, in particular the old Trojan queen Hecuba and her children. By Euripides ; a new translation by D. Nicholas Rudall ; [presented by] the Shakespeare Theatre ; director, JoAnne Akalaitis ; assistant director, Jesse Berger.
