Summary
Special joint session of Congress in commemoration of the 150th anniversary of the birth of Abraham Lincoln. The program included the United States Army Band, the Cadet Chorus of the United States Coast Guard Academy, a leading of the Gettysburg Address by actor Fredric March, and an address by Carl Sandburg, poet and biographer of Lincoln. (Sandburg was the first non-government civilian ever invited to address a joint session of Congress.) Bill Steinbach, announcer.
