Summary
Marc Steiner hosts a program to understand how people think about race, beginning with Annette Gibbs interviewing Charles Christian on the importance of diversity. Panelists Keith Colston (Baltimore American Indian Center), Sherrilyn Iffil (University of Maryland Law School), Will Liu (University of Maryland Asian Studies), Gali Sanchez (Latino Community Center and the Baltimore Mayor's Committee on Latino Affairs), and Rita Simon (Women's Freedom Network and Professor at American University) discuss issues including residential segregation, affirmative action, economic opportunities, stereotypes, criminal justice, and the teaching of American history. Panelists also discuss concerns specific to African-American, Asian, Hispanic, and American Indian communities and comment upon calls from viewers.
