- Date
1992
- Main contributors
Jhally, Sut; Kilbourne, Jean; Pollay, Richard W.; Foundation for Media Education
- Summary
-
The lecturers examine, with visual examples, the advertising strategies of the tobacco industry. They contend that a "pack of lies" is pushed upon people in the United States, as well as in the rest of the world, and that new generations of nicotine addicts are needed by the industry and are being created by intentionally misinforming the public via advertising. Lecture filmed at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
