Summary
Sen. Kennedy (D-MA) had not yet announced his candidacy when he made a three-day tour through Washington state. Jim Snyder profiles him, shortly after this trip, as a leading contender. Speaking at a local fundraising dinner, Kennedy says, “The Republican party has traditionally been the party of the status quo, and today there is no status quo.” He remarks that today “peaceful revolutions are rocking our nation and the world.”
