Summary
President Kennedy welcomes President Sukarno of Indonesia and President Keita of Mali at Andrews Air Force Base. Sukarno and Keita, who also make short speeches, come with a plea from 25 uncommitted nations for Kennedy-Khrushchev peace talks. Kennedy begins speaking at 14:45, preceded by a 21-gun salute, military honors and review, and the national anthem.
