Recording of Katherine Anne Porter in a Roundtable Discussion with the Centro Mexicano de Escritores on June 1, 1960. Porter completes reading her short story "The Fig Tree," pages 360-62 in Collected Stories. The second of three tapes. Porter comments briefly on her series of childhood stories. A female commentator discusses the story. Porter addresses the commentator's question about the roots of her fiction, specifically including that of "Maria Concepcion." A male commentator discusses the structure of "Old Mortality" and "Noon Wine" and begins a discussion of "Pale Horse, Pale Rider."
