Recognizing the need to not only highlight the beauty, complexity, and usefulness of Maryland’s natural resources but to preserve them as well, MPT has always been a national leader in environmental programming. On an international scale, MPT took a hard look at the issue of global warming as early as 1990 with innovative documentaries such as "Our Beautiful Planet." This clip from the episode "Global Warming", hosted by Lloyd Bridges, was featured in the 50th anniversary exhibit, "Made Possible By Viewers Like You: Maryland Public Television Turns 50" in the Hornbake Library Maryland Room Gallery in 2019.
