Summary
With a sweeping look at the 20th century, this film uses still photographs and song to trace the long, bitter struggle of American workers against economic exploitation. Following the theme that "freedom is a hard-won thing and every generation's got to win it again," the film ends with scenes from the 1963 Civil Rights March on Washington, a new chapter in the struggle for liberty and justice. Features singers Pete Seeger, Judy Collins, Tom Paxton, Barry Kornfield, Millard Lampell (also folk music advisor and wrote lyrics to "Pass it On"), Carla Rotolo, and John R. Winn. Animation by Martel Photography, Inc.
