Summary
"A Salute to Katherine Anne Porter," one of the programs celebrating the renovation of Hornbake Library as a Special Collections facility, took place in Hornbake Library, University of Maryland, April 13, 2003. The program consisted of a staged reading of Katherine Anne Porter's short story "Magic" by actress Jewell Robinson, followed by a panel discussion. Dean of Libraries Charles Lowry opens the program, followed by an introduction by Curator of Literary Manuscripts, Beth Alvarez. Following Jewell Robinson's staged reading of "Magic," Jackson R. Bryer introduces the other members of the panel, Janis Stout, Alexandra Subramanian, and Darlene Unrue. Robinson and Alvarez also participate in the discussion. A transcription of the panel discussion was published in the Katherine Anne Porter Society Newsletter, Volume XI, October 204.
